MISSION

Purpose

The purpose of the Mission Committee is to organize the life and work of the congregation in ways that focus stewardship outward toward the needs present within the community, state, nation and world.

Background

Currently, the Mission Committee is allocating approximately 15% of the church's annual budget for giving. The committee meets, reviews past giving and allocates funds. In addition to budget review and recommendation, the committee organizes at least one mission project per year, organizes the monthly mission offering collected each Sunday, organizes speakers concerning mission work, and gives periodic updates from the pulpit in the form of "Minute for Mission". In the past few years, the committee has been taking a more active role and becoming more directly involved in mission work.
